Rev. Dorothy Wellington
Inspirational Teacher,
Pastor & Author
"At 18 I left a loving and protected home with all my needs met with a mother and father, three brothers and three sisters and married a 20-year old man from my hometown in Coolidge, Arizona who had just finished a year in the Viet Nam War. From 18 years of love and protection, I started a roller coaster of living with a husband who was mentally ill, then divorce, single parenting, and financial hardships one right after the other. What got me through those years to now and having the love and beauty of 3 children and 8 grandchildren, was a personal relationship with God, always loving and growing in Him. Today I know for certain everyone needs a personal relationship with God in order to have peace, love and joy through life's difficulties, hardships and sorrow."
In 2011, I received the honor of being a Community Luminary presented by the State of Black Arizona.
"I believe it is my life purpose and direction to reach hurting people and those who are poor and homeless - SSOP (Super Stars Overcoming Poverty). Even tho this is my commitment, I cannot do it alone. I need our Volunteers and community support. And none of this ministry and community outreach would continue to be possible without financial offerings and donations from people like you. If you give today, you have been chosen by God and His blessings will come upon you in accordance to His written Word (promises). How much should you give, that decision is between you and God, the message in your heart. I am immensely grateful."
In 1980 I began in ministry with teaching home Bible studies, then the outreach grew to build The Homemaker's Tea (ministry to women), later to pastor a young church in west Phoenix while attending
Grand Canyon University, opened my first counseling agency in 1994. A writer for newspaper columns, speaker for numerous workshops, seminars and conferences. Published my first book in 2002, "Spiritual Healing Beyond Religion and "It's All About God," released in 2012. In October 2006 started the Once-A-Month Church ministering to the poor & homeless in a park. What an awesome adventure! God's love is power, in Him I have the ability to accomplish everything He places in my heart.
